Our Story

Every cushion carries a name, a village, and a pair of hands.

ELLA Home Decor exists to bring that story into American homes intact — not smoothed over, not anonymized. Here’s how we work.

How We Started

A partnership with Agrotextiles Peruanos.

Our name, Ella, means “she” or “her” in Spanish. It represents the women behind every creation—their talent, their stories, their heritage, and the generations of knowledge woven into their work. Ella is a celebration of women and the beauty they create with their hands.

The process begins with natural fibers, carefully spun and dyed in colors inspired by the Andean landscape. Using techniques preserved for centuries, each artisan weaves by hand, creating patterns that express her heritage, surroundings, and individual creativity.

The Process

From raw wool to finished cushion.

At Ella Home Decor, we bring this remarkable artistry into contemporary homes. Our collection honors the talent, dedication, and cultural heritage of Peruvian women artisans while blending time-honored traditions with warm, elevated design.

01

Shearing & spinning

Wool is sheared from local sheep and alpaca, then hand-spun into yarn using a drop spindle — a technique taught to most weavers before the age of ten.

02

Natural dyeing

Yarn is dyed in small batches using cochineal insects, native plants, and minerals — the same palette used in Andean textiles for centuries.

03

Weaving or embroidery

Depending on the design, artisans work on a backstrap loom, a treadle loom, or free-hand embroidery — each piece taking two to six days from start to finish.

04

Finishing & inspection

Covers are lined, zipped, and inspected by hand before being packed for the journey to our warehouse in Miami.

What We Stand For

Values we won't trade away for scale.

Fair trade, always

We agree prices directly with each cooperative before production starts, and we pay in full on delivery — not on consignment.

Genuine quality

Organic cotton, real wool, hand-finished seams. We turn away pieces that don't meet the standard our artisans set for themselves.

Small-batch sourcing

We import less than most importers would like us to, on purpose — it's the only way to keep quality control and fair pay in the same sentence.

«Agrotextiles Peruanos gave us a way to sell our weaving without leaving our village. ELLA orders in advance and pays what we ask — that’s not something we could count on before.»
